OUR HISTORY
OUR HISTORY
The Ballet Mexico Lindo was funded in 2009 by Mrs. Gabriela Jessome and fully registered as a Non-Profit Organization in August 2011.
The Music and Dance Program aims to empower, inspire, and unite children, youth and adults in the community through education, arts and culture. We believe that a community that can learn about other cultures, in this case Latin American Culture, can lift children, youth and even adults up to better improve their self-esteem using arts and culture as tools to be connected, to understand and respect multiculturalism, develop valuable life connections as well as experience the arts in a fun way. Presentations from the Music and Dance programs are promoted to Senior Homes and Cultural Events throughout the city.
We provide dance classes to children and adults, from June to August every Tuesday and from September to May every Friday from 5:30 to 9:30 pm, at St. Luke’s Anglican Church.
We have 3 dance groups from the Ballet Mexico Lindo of Alberta, Preschoolers Group, Children group and Youth and Adults group, some of the performances we have done include mainly to the Greater Edmonton Senior Foundation facilities, in what we call ‘’bringing a gift of love’’, some of the facilities are Kiwanis, McQueen Place, Beverly place, as well as other retirement homes in the city such as South Terrace Long Term Facility, Rutherford Senior Housing, Millwoods Good Shepherd and Shepherd's Care Kensington Campus.
We also participate in Latin Festival through out the Province of Alberta and we have participated in a presentation in Ottawa, Ontario.
